(Heart of Stone) uses a photograph of an actual calf's heart, instead of a stylized faux Valentine's image. The fleshy heart, tinted as if bloody, is printed on the cold, unyielding surface of a flat rock and guarded with barbed wire. Roses, although artifical, almost invite you in.. at the same time as the rusty thorns of the barbed wire repel. Will you risk grievous harm to break through the flat illusion and reach towards life and redemption?
