Artist's Psychobabble - take with a grain of salt. Form your own impressions.
(Bush's Fairy Tales) is a "work in progress" (as soon as I can find that damn book, which has been hiding in a box somewhere since I moved) loosely relating to the topic of war, specifically the Baby Bush Administration and Iraq.
When the war started I was cautiously optimistic, but the apparent inepitude of the administration has made it reminiscent of Vietnam, the endless war I grew up with. Trillions of dollars (much of which has probably enriched Halliburton - conflict of interest, anyone?), thousands of deaths (mostly civilians), destruction over there, 2008 gas prices here twice what they were at the start of the war and the economy tottering. At least they're rid of Saddam, and I have heard from some who have come back from Iraq that things are improving. We can only pray that the next administration will find the middle ground to successfully resolve this - not mire us in an expensive endless bloody war, and not pull out too early before the Iraqis can take care of the chaos themselves.
This copy of "Andersen's Fairy Tales" was rescued, slightly battered, from the $2 bin in a used bookstore. I loved the quirky illustrations (will note who created them when I find the book!) so made it a point to "collaborate" with them, along with Time and Newsweek magazine.
